Awesome Real-Life Stories from St Faustina Shrine

Posted at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy

It was a sunny Saturday morning and I was with my granddaughter, Paige, at her soccer game. Halfway through the game a man came wandering up as if he were looking for something. He came up to me and told me of his dog, a Chihuahua named Tiny. Tiny lived in a subdivision about one quarter of a mile away. He ran away, was lost and nowhere to be found. We looked on the property next to the soccer field and then all around, but no Tiny.

Saddened and worried for his dog, I thought to ask for his phone number just in case Tiny showed up. As he left, empathetic to his loss and concerned about his dog, I thought to say a prayer. Given how long Tiny was lost and how far away from home, I prayed to our Lord for the dog to be found and for his safe return. Needing help in my prayer, as always I sought the intercession of St. Faustina. But knowing that although others would be interceding, the graces would come through the well-known saint for lost things, St. Anthony. I asked him, also. And then because it was such a big problem that touched my heart, I included the Blessed Mother, and all the angels and saints, especially the ones with whom I have a special devotion.

In her Diary, St. Faustina records these words of Jesus: "But for Me to be able to act upon the soul, the soul must have faith. O how pleasing to Me is living faith! (1420).

Elsewhere in her Diary (entry 921), the Lord tells her, "My daughter, I am told that there is much simplicity in you, so why do you not tell Me about everything that concerns you, even the smallest details? Tell Me about everything, and know that this will give Me great joy."

Saint Faustina answered, "But You know about everything, Lord." And Jesus replied to her, "Yes, I do know; but you should not excuse yourself with the fact that I know, but with childlike simplicity talk to Me about everything, for My ears and heart are inclined towards you, and your words are dear to Me."

In her next Diary entry, she writes:

When I began this big novena for three intentions, I saw a tiny insect on the ground and thought: how did it get here in the middle of winter? Then I heard the following words in my soul: You see, I am thinking of it and sustaining it, and what is it compared to you? Why was your soul fearful for a moment? I apologized to the Lord for that moment. Jesus wants me to always be a child and to leave all care to Him, and to submit blindly to His holy will. He took everything upon Himself. (922)

And so the soccer game ended, and everyone went home or about their day, but the dog was never found. Days passed, Sunday, Monday Tuesday, and then into Wednesday. We hadn't heard anything about Tiny, nor were we thinking about it. Wednesday morning, my wife was at home. I was working from my home and got a late start going to work. At about 11:15 a.m., exactly as I was backing out of the garage, a Chihuahua turned the corner from the side of my house, and I immediately stopped the car. I ran into the house to see if I could find the phone number the man had left me. I got it, went outside and cornered the dog in a partially fenced yard of my neighbor. My wife was watering the flowers, and I called for her. She came to help box the dog in the yard since the dog would not let us touch him.

He was scared and hungry. He slipped around us towards the front of our house near the garage, and I prayed he would go into the garage so we could lower it and keep him inside until we called the owner. To my surprise, the dog went up to our back door in our garage and lied down. We lowered the garage door and called the number. It was Tiny. She had been missing for five days, traveled 2.5 miles to end up exactly in my view and then right to our back door in our garage only to lie down and rest until his owner came to get him. I found out when he came over that I was the only person to whom he had given his phone number.

He was home praying for Tiny's safe return. He was just hoping for a miracle, since he thought the dog had been killed because he was gone for so long. What a look of relief and such a joyful reunion. Tiny was just as happy to see his owner. We praised God. And we thanked St. Anthony and all the angels and saints. We knew it was a miracle.

And of course, nothing happens by accident.

Praise God for His love and friendship, goodness and mercy. And for all of our friends in heaven who love us.

And so with childlike trust we learn to do as St Faustina says in Diary entry 2:

O My God

When I look into the future, I am frightened,
But why plunge into the future?
Only the present moment is precious to me,
As the future may never enter my soul at all.

It is no longer in my power,
To change, correct or add to the past;
For neither sages nor prophets could do that.
And so, what the past has embraced I must entrust to God.

O present moment, you belong to me, whole and entire.
I desire to use you as best I can.
And although I am weak and small,
You grant me the grace of your omnipotence.
And so, trusting in Your mercy,
I walk through life like a little child,
Offering You each day this heart
Burning with love for Your greater glory.

Tragic Car Accident Reveals God's Mercy by Jay Hastings

The following is a real-life story Jay will share about St FaustinaShrine/Society as we pray over and for people with our 1st class relic of St Faustina: By Jay Hastings

Jesus tells us the importance of praying for the sick and dying. "Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you," Jesus told St. Faustina (Diary, 1541). "Whoever will recite it will receive great mercy at the hour of death" (687). "When they say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the Merciful Savior" (Diary 1541).

If we are requested to do so, some members of our 24-Hour Chaplet of Divine Mercy prayer group      (Now St Faustina Shrine/Society) pray over the sick and the dying using a first-class relic of St. Faustina. Allow me to share with you one such occasion.

A young man named Nick was badly bruised and stricken with pain, suffering from trauma all over his body. He was in a coma from a car accident. His family and friends were in distress, filled with sorrow.

After hearing of the accident through a friend, I called Nick's mom, Lauren. I offered to drive from Memphis, Tenn., to Jackson, Miss., to pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy for Nick - a trip of about 250 miles. As I was talking with Lauren, I sensed such an overwhelming feeling of holiness surrounding her and our phone call, which stayed with me for some time. I knew our Lord was calling upon my group to help her.

This was on a Saturday. My wife and I were planning to leave for Jackson the next morning because Nick was expected to be OK until then. That night, while my wife and I were grocery shopping, a friend of Lauren's had a vision of St. Faustina being at the right side of Nick's head.

Turns out, my wife and I would have a change of plans. Lauren asked us if we could come down to Jackson that Saturday evening, with St. Faustina's relic. It was around 6:30 p.m. We knew there was very little chance we would get to the hospital within the permitted visiting hours. Still, we decided to go - to forego dinner at home, to drop everything, and leave immediately.

Many graces were poured out that night to make sure a Chaplet was said by Nick's bedside. I know for our part, my wife and I entrusted it all to God. We went to the Church to get the relic, gassed up our car like racers do at a pit stop, and hopped on the interstate and headed for Jackson.

Because my wife was very hungry, along the way I decided to make a quick stop to grab a burger. Much to my surprise, as my wife brought it to my attention, we exited the interstate and had to cross a four-lane highway to get to a fast food drive-thru. Miraculously, all four lanes just opened up, and we crossed without delay. We got our burgers fast and jetted back on the interstate with hardly a delay.

We had to speed, and the freeway seemed to open up for us. We arrived by 10 p.m. Despite our tardiness, the hospital staff let us in. We were able to pray a Chaplet for Nick in Intensive Care with St. Faustina's relic at the right side of his head. The family was moved by our act of mercy and by how important we felt it was to pray this Chaplet from God.

Surrounded in holiness
Nick was a very holy young man. He affected the lives of those around him by his love and charity towards his friends, neighbors, and the people whom he met.

Nick died the next day, early in the morning.

There was an enormous turnout for his funeral. Many people recalled Nick's kind and Christ-like spirit. Many lives were touched from this sharing and the faith witness of his family. Many teenagers and adults were moved by the example of Nick, who was so spiritually focused. As people grieved, it was apparent that God's graces and mercy were being poured out in great abundance.

Since the funeral, God has continued to use this faithful young man's life and early death as an instrument of grace and mercy for others. For instance, the young man who was in the car with Nick survived the accident and is now becoming Catholic!

Another example is that some time after Nick's death, his mother, Lauren, was in Florida for a school event. Because of a time constraint, the only Mass available for her to attend was at a Byzantine Catholic Church. (It was named St. Nicholas, by the way.) A friend had recently told her that she had a vision in her heart of Nick walking with the saints. During the Byzantine liturgy, to Lauren's amazement, the congregation prayed the words used in the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy: "... Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world." Lauren viewed this as confirmation of her friend's vision - of the role St. Faustina had in helping Nick to go home to Heaven and of the sweet mercy and compassion of our Lord for those who are hurting.

Grace extends to roommate
Then, in July, Lauren received a call from Nick's former roommate, Brandon. He was in Washington, D.C., where he worked as an intern for a senator. The week of Nick's accident was particularly difficult for Brandon. He was away from anyone who knew Nick, and he missed his old roommate.

Brandon decided to go for a run. He put on his LSU shorts and Pi Kap T-shirt. Shortly after beginning his run, a young lady called out to him: "Hey, do you go to LSU?" Brandon replied, "Yes."

He stopped to speak with her. When she saw that Brandon was wearing a Pi Kap shirt, she asked if Brandon knew Brad Stidham (Nick's older brother). Brandon said, "Yes. Very well," and to that, the young lady said that she is his cousin, Amy! Amy had just moved to D.C. the week before. Some may call this a coincidence, but there isn't one person who knows Nick who doesn't believe that he had something to do with Brandon meeting Amy. God truly loves and cares for His children. He truly knows what we need and when we need it!

Jesus told St. Faustina: "I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls (Diary, 1074).

The story of Nick is proof of that promise being fulfilled.

Warm welcome from our Lord and St Faustina

Chapel of the miraculous image of the Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina with Story.

Greeting everyone. Hope you are doing well. You are always in our prayers each day. Patte and I with our son Fr Joseph Hastings recently went on a Pilgrimage to Rome and Poland. Read below:

We went to Poland to visit the tomb of St Faustina. The place where the remains of St Faustina are kept and venerated. It’s in the Chapel of St Joseph. One reason to pilgrimage there was this:

After trusting more of my (Jay) life to our Lord in 2002, He sent St Faustina (1st class relic) to me. Now this last August, we were able to go to the Chapel of the miraculous image of the Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina and give back to her and our Lord, all of our pray-ers, and prayers past, present and future along with the St Faustina Shrine/Society,

which is all of us.

Approaching the Chapel of St Joseph where her remains are, we saw to the right, the window to the room where she died and 2 plaques with flowers.  One had a quote from St Faustina which read:

"I feel good that my mission does not end with death". IN THIS ROOM ON OCT 5 1938 THE APOSTLE OF DIVINE MERCY SM FAUSTYNA  KOWALSKA FROM THE CONGREGATION OF OUR LADY OF MERCY DIED

The second quote on the frame below was a statement from the person who witnessed her passing: It read:

IN THIS ROOM, OCTOBER 1938 DEATH OF THE APOSTLE OF DIVINE MERCY SM FAUSTYNA KOWALSKA FROM THE CONGREGATION OF OUR LADY MIŁOSTERDALA IN THIS PLACE SR. FAUSTYNA KOWALSKA DIED ON OCTOBER 5, 1938 AT 2245. THE DEATH WITNESSED BY S. EUFEMIA TRACZYNSKA

I took a picture of the room as we were approaching for the first time ever and when I looked at the picture, I saw a ray of light shining down to that the window at the exact time we were arriving. (see picture above; with tomb oof St Faustina to the right). We felt as if we were being greeted by our Lord and St Faustina and that they were well pleased with the St Faustina Shrine/Society and all of us and our collective pray-ers and prayers around the world which make up our spiritual storehouse for souls.

I thought I would share that moment with you since we are all part of the St Faustina Shrine/Society. +++

God’s movement in Poland

Another confirmation of our collective Chaplet of Divine Mercy and prayers is this next story:

As we were leaving from Poland to go back to Rome, an Indian woman came up to Patte because she was wearing a t-shirt with the words of Padre Pio: "Pray, Hope and Don't Worry". She asked us to pray for her. She said the airlines overbooked, all her friends in her group were on the flight but that she was bumped off.

She was distressed. We said we would pray. In coming in contact with us, she became connected to the St Faustina Shrine/Society. I texted out for emergency Chaplets for her to our emergency people who pray. A little time went by and even before we boarded the plane, she found us again and thanked us for praying. She was put back on the plane.

After we landed in Rome, she found us again and said she was pleading to St John Paul II for intercession also. Then she said "Your Prayers are very powerful!" She never even knew about St Faustina Shrine/Society. She then asked us to text her friends for they had no way of knowing that she had arrived. So, Fr Joseph texted them and she was able to connect with them.

So remember, Our collective chaplets of Divine Mercy

are very powerful!

We had other chances to help people as we saw God's movement in our travels.

A Bedside 'Prescription' for the Sick and Dying by Jay Hastings

This story/experience was posted at The National Shrine of Divine Mercy.

https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/bedside-prescription-sick-and-dying

Doctors have been known to tell the sick and dying that there is nothing else that can be done for them. Nothing else? There's nothing further from the truth.

We can do something for them. We can give them the image of The Divine Mercy (the easiest way is in the form of a prayer card) and we can pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy for them, as our Lord instructed. After all, even if someone's days on earth may be few, there's heaven to consider. We need to do what we can to get them into heaven!

As for the image of The Divine Mercy, our Lord instructed St. Faustina to have it painted with the words "Jesus, I Trust in You" at the bottom. The Lord provided this image as a vessel of grace for us. He told St. Faustina: "I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death" (Diary of St. Faustina, 48).

As for the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy, Jesus told St. Faustina: "My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you. It pleases Me to grant everything they ask of Me by saying this chaplet. When hardened sinners say it, I will fill their souls with peace, and the hour of their death will be a happy one. ... Write that when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person, not as the just Judge but as the merciful Savior" (Diary, 1541).

To uphold the dignity of every human being, we can pray the chaplet for the divine intervention in the life of every soul. We can pray for healing and for the trust, graces, and mercy necessary to prepare them for the journey through the valley of death. Our Lord promised such prayer will bear fruit. I know one thing: When He promises something, I'm sure going to listen and put His instructions into action.

I'd like to share with you a story of how our Divine Mercy prayer group recently used the Chaplet and the image as our Lord commanded.

One day, Fr. Peter (our parish priest) called our group to get people to join him at the hospital to pray the chaplet for a young woman. The woman was in the advanced stages of breast cancer.

Father Peter had given the young woman the Anointing of the Sick the day before. She was looking very sick and had a tube attached to her nose. Her family was present, and we proceeded to pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy. The young woman joined us in our prayers. As she lay in bed, she clutched the relic of St. Faustina that we had brought.

After we had finished praying the Chaplet, I decided to trust that our Lord would provide the right words to say to her. I explained to her about the image of The Divine Mercy and the promises our Lord attached to it. I explained how Jesus invites us to keep coming back to this image for strength in times of need, and how He invites us to pray the Chaplet to fill souls with peace.

Our prayer group watched as this young woman clutched the relic of St. Faustina and gazed into the image of The Divine Mercy. She did so with such a connection of spirit with the Almighty as to prepare her for the valley of death. It's a journey the young woman's grandmother had made years earlier. Words cannot express the moment we witnessed. The next morning, the young woman told her mother that her grandmother was there to see her.

As her mother turned to talk with her daughter, the young woman gently passed away. Her passing was a peaceful one.

Pray with us for souls. Jesus I trust in You.

Welcome to Shrine of St Faustina of The Divine Mercy

Fear and Anxiety No More by Jay Hastings

This story/experience was posted at The National Shrine of Divine Mercy. https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/fear-and-anxiety-no-more

When I started writing this story, Deacon Dick Brady, a holy man from Colorado, was dying of lung cancer. A while ago our paths crossed through a group I founded called the St Faustina Shrine/Society's 24hr Chaplet of Divine Mercy Group.

Deacon Brady loved God very much, and it shined through his painful ordeal. In addition to his physical suffering, he was enduring an onslaught of fear and anxiety as well. Deacon Brady chose not to be medicated, but rather decided to embrace his cross and turn to our Merciful Savior.

One of our prayer group members, Penny, asked me if we, here in my home parish in Tennessee, could hold our 1st-class relic of St. Faustina before the Blessed Sacrament and pray for Deacon Brady. The plan was to pray the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy for healing and God's will in Deacon Brady's life.

Indeed, that's what we did. At 5:55 p.m. in Tennessee, we prayed while simultaneously in Colorado, Penny and Deacon Brady also prayed.

As our prayer group prays, we trust that our Lord will pour out His graces to those for whom we pray. Deacon Brady understood this as we prayed for him.

Our Lord told St. Faustina, "My daughter, speak to priests about this inconceivable mercy of Mine. The flames of mercy are burning Me - clamoring to be spent; I want to keep pouring them out upon souls; souls just don't want to believe in My goodness" (Diary of St. Faustina, 177).

I found out a few weeks after we prayed for Deacon Brady that his fear and anxiety had subsided on the very day we prayed with St. Faustina before the Blessed Sacrament! Miraculously, Deacon Brady was filled with an extraordinary peace of God that he carried with him through the physical suffering. We were overjoyed for him as we continued to pray for him. Peace in the midst of suffering!

Saint Faustina once wrote, "The Lord visited me today and said, 'My daughter, do not be afraid of what will happen to you. I will give you nothing beyond your strength. You know the power of My grace; let that be enough' " (Diary, 1491).

Fear and anxiety can be dangerous obstacles to our spiritual life. Jesus said as much to St. Faustina:

My child, know that the greatest obstacles to holiness are discouragement and an exaggerated anxiety. These will deprive you of the ability to practice virtue. All temptations united together ought not disturb your interior peace, not even momentarily. Sensitiveness and discouragement are the fruits of self-love. Have confidence, My child. Do not lose heart in coming for pardon, for I am always ready to forgive you. As often as you beg for it, you glorify My mercy. (Diary, 1488)

The road is sometimes very difficult, but our Lord gives us - through St. Faustina - some pointers on how to endure the struggles and sufferings of life:

And when it seems to you that your suffering exceeds your strength, contemplate My Wounds and you will rise above human scorn and judgment. Meditation on My Passion will help you rise above all things. (Diary, 1184)

Christ also gave the following directives:

First, do not fight against a temptation by yourself, but disclose it to the confessor at once, and then the temptation will lose all its force. Second, during these ordeals do not lose your peace; live in My presence; ask My Mother and the Saints for help. Third, have the certitude that I am looking at you and supporting you. Forth, do not fear either struggles of the soul or any temptations, because I am supporting you; if only you are willing to fight, know that the victory is always on your side. Fifth, know that by fighting bravely you give Me great glory and amass merits for yourself. Temptation gives you a chance to show Me your fidelity" (Diary, 1560).

Deacon Brady passed away last week.

I will always be inspired by his struggle. In his pain, he never took the easy way out. He wanted everyone to know this story, and he gave me permission to write it in the hopes that people will be inspired to turn to Christ with trust, especially when they are overcome with adversity. In our modern world, we sometimes try to escape, via drugs or via denial, instead of facing the fear and anxiety from the crosses in our life. When we face our crosses, we learn to trust more in our Lord and thus grow in virtue and intimacy as we learn from them.

Our prayer group continues to pray for the soul of Deacon Brady. He fought bravely in his battle with lung cancer. He kept the faith, and I believe in my heart that he was rewarded for his trust in the unfathomable mercy of God.

"Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death," Jesus told St. Faustina (Diary, 1520).

We invite all of you reading this story to pray for him, his parish and family and learn to pray for all the sick and dying on a regular basis as our Lord wanted us to. Pray the Chaplet and always remember the promises of our Lord.

"With souls that have recourse to My mercy and with those that glorify and proclaim My great mercy to others, I will deal according to My infinite mercy at the hour of their death," He said (Diary, 379).

Awesome Stories: Prayer & Healing from St Faustina Shrine

Welcome to Shrine of St Faustina of The Divine Mercy

This story/experience was posted at The National Shrine. https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/through-sacrifice-and-prayer

"My daughter, I want to instruct you on how you are to rescue souls through sacrifice and prayer. You will save more souls through prayer and suffering than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone. I want to see you as a sacrifice of living love, which only then carries weight before Me."

- Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary of St. Faustina, 1767.

By Jay Hastings

Kay is a member of our Divine Mercy prayer group. It was a Thursday evening. She was adoring our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament the best she could, though her back was sore, and she was tired and uncomfortable after a long day at work.

When her hour of Adoration came to an end, she was ready to go home. But then she was called upon to stay for another hour because there was no one to fill that hour. Obediently, she stayed.

I'm sure our Lord understood the strain and sacrifice she endured.

As her second hour ended and she prepared to leave, she heard Fr. Peter calling for her. Father Peter, our parish priest and a promoter of Divine Mercy, told her about a young man whom we needed to pray over with the first-class relic of St. Faustina. Obediently, Kay agreed, and they met with him. He was going to have surgery to have a brain tumor removed. His wife and he were concerned because the X-rays showed a big tumor and they thought that the tentacles of the tumor would be so far reaching into his brain that they would not be able to remove it all.

They sought the mercy of God.

Jesus once said to St. Faustina: "My daughter, speak to priests about this inconceivable mercy of Mine. The flames of mercy are burning Me - clamoring to be spent; I want to keep pouring them upon souls; souls just don't want to believe in My goodness" (Diary, 177).

Father Peter administered the sacrament of the sick. Then, asking for the intercession of St. Faustina, they all prayed a Chaplet of The Divine Mercy for healing and for God's will in the young man's life. The young man held the relic as they prayed. We put the young man in our prayer group's Divine Mercy Prayer Journal and prayed continuously for him.

Several days went by before we heard from the young couple. It turns out, when the doctor went in to operate, to the surprise of the doctor, the tumor was just the size of a pebble, and they were able to easily remove it. The young man and his wife gave thanks and praised God's unfathomable mercy. The young man went around the parish telling many people about the miracle of God - how he had asked for much and trusted in His goodness and mercy, and how he received much.

As for Fr. Peter, we have a priest willing to live the Divine Mercy way of life.

Our Lord once said to St. Faustina: "Write, speak of My mercy. Tell souls where they are to look for solace; that is, in the Tribunal of Mercy. There the greatest miracles take place [and] are incessantly repeated. To avail oneself of this miracle, it is not necessary to go on a great pilgrimage or to carry out some external ceremony; it suffices to come with faith to the feet of My representative and to reveal to him one's misery, and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated" (Diary, 1448).

Kay, in her obedience, came to understand that our Lord allowed her to have the sacrifice of suffering during her holy hour for the benefit of this young man. She was excited and deeply moved by the experience. She was a vessel of love and mercy. It was a spiritual intimacy with our Lord she will forever cherish.

Real life Stories 3 Prayer/Healing from St Faustina Shrine

Interview by John Angotti: Miraculous Story of the Healing of Madeline through St Faustina & The Divine Mercy. Her father thanks St Faustina everyday for being a Big sister to their daughter as prayers come from Bishops, Priests, lay people, churches, communities and to National attention as they surrender their lives to God's Will. Through St Faustina, Our Lord, The Divine Mercy said, "Through the chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with My Will." (Diary 1711

Real life Stories of Prayer/Healing from St Faustina Shrine

Diagnosis Breast Cancer by Jay Hastings

Diagnosis Breast Cancer by Jay Hastings

These are real life stories of the graces poured out to the people we pray over with our first class relic of St Faustina.

Her name was Linda. We received a request to pray for her. We immediately put her in our Divine Mercy Prayer Journal. Our 24-Hour Chaplet of The Divine Mercy pray-ers pray continuously every hour every day for those in need. Armed with a 1st-class relic of St Faustina, we offered a Chaplet for healing for her at 3 p.m., the Hour of Great Mercy.

But before we prayed, we received another request. A young mother named Jennifer, 24, was diagnosed with cancer and was told she had only two months to live. She did not have a relationship with God, and her family was in turmoil.

Upon hearing of this, we talked with Linda about Jennifer. Linda, responding to God's graces, chose not to become self-absorbed by her own illness. Instead, she realized that Jennifer was worse off than she was. So Linda, in an act of mercy, decided to offer up her many sufferings for Jennifer so that Jennifer could find God in her life before she died. A truly selfless act considering that Linda could possibly be facing the same situation sometime in the future.

Linda held the relic of St Faustina. We prayed the Chaplet that day at 3 p.m. for the healings of both women. We continued to pray for them each hour of the day in our 24-Hour Chaplet prayer group.

Time moved on. Jennifer did pass away two months later. We heard she found her way back to God before she died - an answer to our prayers!

As for Linda, she has undergone treatment and has had recovery from her breast cancer, though her doctors are keeping a close eye on her.

It all makes me think - two lives intersected, one seemingly lost and in peril, the other called by God, through her own intimate relationship with Him, to use this gift of suffering through His Chaplet of The Divine Mercy to help save a soul. Both women now, I'm sure, have a closer walk with Him.

God can make a flowering of good come from even bad situations if we are open to His inspirations. That day it was about saving Jennifer's soul. In the act of mercy and the power of the Chaplet, lives were changed.
